Kayla Solomon, FOX13 Memphis

Kayla Solomon joined the FOX13 team in October 2021 after spending the last three years as an MMJ/reporter for 13WMAZ News in Macon, GA. While there, she reported on Central Georgia’s biggest headlines, including the murder of Fort Valley State University student Anitra Gunn and the historic 2020 election cycle. She’s an award-winning journalist, winning a Georgia Association of Broadcasters award for General Assignment Reporting. Growing up in New York City and also the suburbs of northeast Pennsylvania, Kayla’s a proud Temple University alum, graduating from the Klein College of Media and Communications with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Public Relations. While at Temple, she was the president of the Temple Association of Black Journalists, and a sports reporter and anchor for the Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award-Winning show, OwlSports Update. She was also an Emma Bowen Foundation fellow, which landed her paid internships at FOX29 Philadelphia and also FOX5 New York. Kayla’s a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and can’t wait to get involved with the Memphis chapter.
