Man arrested with butcher knife after 2 people killed in Washington

KITSAP COUNTY, Wash. — A man has been arrested after deputies said they found him crawling away from the crime scene holding a butcher knife in Kitsap County, Washington. Officials say two people were found dead inside a house.

The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release two people inside a house in the 9000 block of Central Valley Road called 911 and said that multiple people inside were stabbed on Sunday night just before 9 p.m. The callers said that the man was still inside but they were able to get outside the house safely.

Authorities say the house is for people who are in addiction recovery.

As deputies made their way to the building, they said they found the suspect crawling away in some brush, according to KIRO. The sheriff’s office said he was still holding a butcher knife and was eventually taken into custody.

Deputies then searched the house and found two people dead and two others who were injured but alive, KIRO reported

Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office said that the two injured men were flown to local trauma centers for treatment. They both sustained serious, life-threatening injuries.

The dead victims were a 51-year-old man and an unidentified woman. Kitsap County Coroner will determine the cause and manner of death for both victims.

The suspect was taken to an area hospital for treatment for minor injuries but was eventually booked into jail, charged with two counts of first-degree murder and first-degree assault with a deadly weapon, the sheriff’s office said.
