Wolf River Conservancy to host 16th annual tree planting

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — FOX13′s Family Focus is supporting a free tree giveaway Friday, March 5.

The event is part of the Wolf River Conservancy’s 16th annual tree giveaway to support the Wolf River watershed reforestation.

The trees can be picked up at the Memphis Botanic Garden located at 750 Cherry Road from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday, March 5.

The event is part of the longest continual effort to reforest the Wolf River watershed and Tennessee’s Arbor Day.

The giveaway will include trees and shrubs. There will be two types of tree saplings, including a Red Mulberry and a Northern Red Oak.

You can also sponsor a tree to be donated to an organization in need for $15.

All of the trees are provided by the Arbor Day Foundation to honor Memphis as a tree city.
