What could you buy if you win the $1.1 billion Mega Millions jackpot?

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The winner of the $1.1 Billion Mega Millions jackpot will not actually be a billionaire.

If they live in Tennessee, they’ll be taking home about $363 million if they opt for the lump sum or $694 million if they choose the annual payout option after taxes.

If you wanted to help out the city, you could sign Ja Morant to the Grizzlies for 70 years based on his current contract. You could also buy half the franchise, which is valued at about $1.3 billion.

$694 million would also enable you to build about six more Bass Pro Pyramids, which cost a little over $100 million in today’s money. Another option would be to build a couple of new FedEx Forums, which cost around $250 million to construct.

Tired of the Kia challenge? You could buy about 35,000 brand-new 2023 Kia Souls and solve the problem completely. Of course, many people would use the money to live a life of luxury.

The jackpot is enough to buy this 110-acre private island in Thailand for $160,000,000, complete with white sand beaches, a generator and cell service, plus this $18 million private jet featuring a full-service galley and wi-fi.

You could also travel to the island by sea aboard this luxurious $118 million yacht, The Victorious. The ship features a gym, a pool, two bars and several tender boats.

You’ll have to remove those boats if you want to land your $7 million luxury helicopter on board. It’s soundproof and even features power outlets.

All those lifestyle purchases would still leave you with half your winnings to spend, so why not get into the movie business? The Lord of the Rings franchise cost $260 million to make, and you would still have about $100 million left over for incidentals.

If you are feeling charitable, though, you could cover about a quarter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s annual operating cost of $2.2 billion.

The numbers were drawn Tuesday night, and they were: 7, 13, 14, 15, 18 and 9.
