MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Ice Storm Warning has been extended again, now expiring at noon Thursday.
Winter Weather Advisory for Dunklin, Craighead, Dyer and Pemiscot counties is in effect until 6 a.m. Thursday.
Thursday is Groundhog Day, and it will be messy and icy mainly in the morning. There will be some thawing and melting Thursday afternoon, but it will be very gradual. Greater relief arrives with sunshine then higher temps afterward.
LOCAL WEATHER FOR MEMPHIS AND THE MID-SOUTH
Thursday: Freezing rain in the morning, rain mainly in northern Mississippi in the afternoon. Highs in the middle and upper 30s. Re-freezing will occur in the evening and at night with temps falling back below freezing.
Friday: Sunnier with a little melting. Cold with highs in the mid- and upper-30s.
Saturday: Mostly sunny and chilly. Highs in the 40s.
Sunday: Mostly sunny and milder. Highs in the mid-50s.
