MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person is dead after an early morning crash and car fire on Austin Peay Highway, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD).
The crash happened at the intersection of Austin Peay Highway and Jackson Avenue near I-40 around 6 a.m.
FOX13 crews at the scene found the car burned out as police blocked off part of Austin Peay Highway and diverted traffic in the area.

One person was found dead at the scene, according to police.
All lanes of traffic in the area were reopened about three hours later around 9 a.m.
