CORDOVA, Tenn. — One person is dead after an overnight barricade situation in Cordova.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office responded to an active barricade scene in the 1400 block of Hidden Ridge Lane just before 2 a.m.

Deputies were executing a search warrant at the location when a single gunshot was fired from inside the home, SCSO said.
SCSO Fugitive Apprehension Team and US Marshals were serving an arrest warrant for murder for Joe Wilhite.
Wilhite, 36, had an open warrant for his arrest for Aggravated Assault, Petition to Revoke a Suspended Sentence, First Degree Murder, and Theft of Property $2,500-$10,000.
He allegedly shot and killed a woman who died at a hospital on Sept. 15, according to Memphis Police.
SWAT and negotiators came to the scene.
Deputies entered the residence around 4 a.m. and found one person dead, SCSO said.
The investigation is still active.

SCSO has identified the person dead as 36-year-old Joe Wilhite.
Wilhite had a search warrant for murder by SCSO and the US Marshals, deputies said.
