Chelsea Chandler is a proud Memphian who has worked in the media in Memphis for over a decade. Her dream was to “Make it in Memphis” and she feels it’s her honor to serve the community she loves so much each on the weekends and mornings and during severe weather. She has been recognized as the Commercial Appeals Memphis Most as Best TV Weatherperson and by the Memphis Flyer as Best of Memphis for several year for her work as a morning meteorologist 8 times out of the past 7 years. Chelsea started her career as a Traffic Anchor at WMC Action News 5. An accident sidelined her for a year but the FIFA World Cup led to a call that would change everything. She began covering sports on sports talk radio with former FOX13 Alum Earle Farrell which helped her land a job with the Phoenix Suns and eventually covering the Grizzlies. She has done sideline reporting for ESPN for Tiger Basketball, color analysis for an international tennis match and even a home renovation show. Chelsea is a Mid-South native and has deep seeded roots in the community. She is a graduate of Briarcrest Christian High School, studied Meteorology at Penn State University and Mississippi State University but received her first degrees concurrently from Christian Brothers University in Psychology, History and is one of only two students to ever complete a degree in Music. She was also crowned Miss Tennessee International in 2012. Chelsea is also a singer. She is also an established equestrian having won multiple titles and been chosen to represent Tennessee multiple years at the world’s largest quarter horse show, The Congress. Chelsea is a huge advocate for mental health and Suicide Awareness and Education after losing her brother in 2011 as well as dealing with her own struggles. She is passionate about rescuing animals and all things Memphis and history. She serves on the Executive Leadership Team for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women. Being at FOX13 is a dream come true because she is following in her mother’s footsteps. She was on George Klein’s Talent Party in the very same studio 50 years ago. Family is very important to Chelsea so being able to stay home was a something she feels extremely blessed to be able to do and looks forward to getting to know you, the viewers over the years.
